part identification

3lt auto 1993, can anyone tell me what part this is, it is on the top of the drivers side of the engin and is belt driven the red arrow points at a hole that looks as if some kind of sensor or test equipment should fit there.

That is the air conditioning pump.The bit with the arrow pointing to
it would be i think for re-gassing as mine is the same as that.I just
had to go and double check to make sure but there's nothing coming off
that bit.
