I now have reason to believe my break master cylinder seals are gone as iv tried all that one can do. Can anyone tell me where to get a repair kit, or are they main dealer parts only.

Try the usual....
Milners for a start or you could just try one or two Auto Supply specialists.
Partco is one larger type auto supplier...there are many but in your area try yellow pages. The master cylinder is not that special, its not a one off either just fot the Surf, expect to pay around £30-40 for a complete cylinder.

Rough Traxs & Milners don't do them for 3rd Gens either, or they didn't 10 months ago.
I had to buy a Genuine one at about £190 + VAT.
