Little red buttons

I have 3rd gen 1996 mod ssrg, can anyone tell me what the little red button is at the top of the auto gear shifter as its in jap (or should i learn jap) HELP..

It's to allow the gear lever to move out of 'P' without the need for the ignition to be on.
