how much for a replacement door?

Hi - I looked at a 3.0 surf on Sunday, really liked it, except... the guy had backed into a post and the spare wheel bracket had dinked the skin of the back door panel - as a result, the window wouldn't retract properly, which in turn meant that the door lock wouldnt release.

I'm guessing the safest solution would be to source and fit a new back door?

Has anybody recently replaced a back door? - how much did it cost for the part and fitting? - or if anyone elese has any pertinent advice - I'd be grateful.

Personally, I'd take the trim off the inside of the tailgate, stick a bit of wood on the back of the dent (a rolling pin sounds good) and tw@t it with a hammer.

There's always a lot of breakers on ebay - not that many with the rear-slung spare though.

if its a 2nd gen, i have a grey tailgate here and you can have it! you will need to faff about with it a bit, cos it doesn't have the carrier brackets on it. its quite a quick job to swap them over, but swapping the fittings over will take a bit longer
