100,000 for a 2.4 not sure about 3.0l but if you're getting towards 100,000 and got no record of it being done, get it done.

Change it anyway for piece of mind.
It'll only cost you £18 for the belt plus 30 mins of your time.

As far as I am aware it IS 100,000km, Hippo's light came on at 100,000 exactly, but she had been done at 80k so I reset the switch.

          cam belt

I just done mine at 109,000kms as when i bought it it had no history of one being done. There is a sticker under the bonet telling you to replace the cambelt every 100,000. Do it do it now its only a £25 piece of rubber.

I know someone who had recently bought a lemon of a nissan skyline and blew the engine then spent a shed load rebuilding it and tuning it up only to put back on the old cam belt (aparently he was skint) and guess what last month he blew the cambelt and £4k worth of engine. He was an idiot anyway so i had a good laugh. And recently i heard he has written the car off

The info provided suggests that it is a 2.8 Ltr with a Turbo. I'm sure he means 3 Ltr though. Correct info avoids confusion.

Sure it is a 3L at least that's what the log book says. Got the parts any way just making sure.

                          Thanks for the info.

By the way used to have a '92 2.4TD but blew that one up by dropping a valve into number 1 cylinder

                            Poor 2.4!!

What Nev is talking about is 3L is Toyota's designation for the 2.8 litre diesel motor, like the 2.4 is a 2L, and the 3.0 litre is 1KZ/T
