  • Oil filter

So there are two types of filter one with a non return valve to help lubrication on start up and thats the beast i should have on but still on start up (from a cold start) it takes 2-3 seconds for the oil pressure gauge to raise its little pointer and give a normal reading ...is this normal or should it be a lot quicker...

I think you'll find most engines will take 2-3 seconds to get fully up to pressure as the oil will have drained away from the pump and needs to be sucked up the pickup pipe before it starts to circulate around the engine.
