Thermostat

Hi guys
Has anyone got an idea where the thermostat lives on the kzn 185 3rd gen as i,ve had a bit of a squint and unless its concealed i,m at a bit of a loss !
i,ve got a new one as i belive mine is stuck open ( running cool and only warming up after a thrash ) anyone got any idea what the rad cap part no is as well as i suppose this may need a complimentary change as well to keep everything sweet .........thanks in advance guys

Give Roughtrax or Milners a ring for the rad cap, both have always been really helpful and made sure i'm ordering the right parts when i've bought stuff from them, and they seem to know about the stuff they're selling.

The thermostat on a 2.4 is in a housing at the opposite end of the top rad hose from the radiator. Not sure about the 3.0l though if no one else replies and says i'll be able to find out tomorrow night. but i think i've read somewhere about some of them being somewhere down the passenger side of the engine but i can't remember for sure.

Follow the large rubber hoses away from the radiator, it will be on the end of one of those, behind an alloy cover usually held on by three bolts or nuts.

It's on the left (as you look from the front) about half way down the side of the engine near the front. Is a bit of a pain to get at.

eek loads of gubbins there looks like all manner of pumps and the alternator have any of the internal wheel arch panels got to be removed to get acess as i still cant see the little b*ggers house......am i in the correct area ??

OK, if you follow the rad hose on the drivers side of the radiatior back to where it meets the block, it should be there.

I have the Jap part numbers, if anyone can confirm if these are the same as UK, and assuming it's non-intercooled TD

Eh up fellas
We,ve got conflicting directions to the thermostats house here Apache recons its on the left facing the car and nero on the top hose on the left also but my top hose is on the right facing the car so i,m really confused now !
is it on the left under all the air con pumps ,alternator and other gubbins ?
i recon its a good day for a beer after the one i had driving back with cold feet !

On the 2.4 its on the end of the top hose on passenger side, on the 3.0 its on the end of the bottom hose on the drivers side

It's definately on the left as you look at the car, the diagram on the epc appeared to show the hose near the top but it wasn't clear.
