  • Hello new bloke here

Hello , I have been reading and trying to digest as much info as possible, seems like a brilliant site full of knowledgable people.

I am picking up my 1st Surf Next week ( Toyota HILUX SURF SSR X 3.0 TD 1995 N plate Auto ) and am really looking forward to it after test driving it the other day.

Its a Green over Silver Model in great condition a Jap import from 2004 I believe with 60,000Miles on the clock.

I would appreciate any hints/tips for a new owner like myself I have next to no experience with 4x4's , although I had a Daihatsu Sportstrack ( although I dont consider it a real 4x4 in comparison) for a short while.

this is a pic although not great quality

cheers for any advice in advance

    Andy

Hi and welcome to the site mate
Glad to see you've got one in the best possible colour
only tips I can give ya is flush the coolant system and maybe fit new thermostat and rad cap, and check the rad is clear and has no pin holes in the header, apart from that enjoy, it'll put a smile on ya face everytime you drive it
But it needs some mud on it
If it aint broke dont fix it

thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it. I am told it is getting a full service and new MOT whether that covers any of the advice given I am not sure but I will ask when I pick it up.

haha ... MUD yeah I must say I am looking forward to seeing what it can do, I have only driven it on the road and that was a pleasure to drive in itself.

I am hoping to meet up with some fellow surf/truck people after I become accustomed to it to keep on learning I feel I will be like a man posessed once I start.

As for the colours ...haha ...it matters not to me but I do like the colour scheme regardless.
