Is the suspension on the 3rd gen 3.0 TD supposed to be hard? The ack seems like it is about to shake to bits...

The surf has had a lift...if that helps..

Generally they are stiffer when lifted, but the 3rd gens ride harder than 2nd gens if thats what your used to. It makes them handle nice on the road though.

I’ve been running mine on hard since I got it with a few trials on soft and I prefer the hard setting, but it certainly doesn’t shake or do anything untoward other than stiffen up the ride a little.Don't know about the lift bit.

The 3rd Gen doesn't have the option to go soft...no button, why did they not add it???

I think your right, my 3rd Gen is an SSRX & it doesn't have the hard/soft setting.

It may have been an option as my 1999 Surf does'nt have Hard/Soft
