Smoky Exghaust 3l Turbo Toyota Surf

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY TOYOTA SURF. IT'S BLOWING WHITE SMOKE FROM THE EXGHAUST AND HAVING TO TOP THE RADIATOR UP , NO OIL IN WATER AND NO WATER IN THE OIL. ANY IDEAS, CONTACT ME, MUCH APPRECIATED.

Sorry to say this but it sounds like you have a head/gasket problem, find a local garage that can do a pressure test on it for you.

I had the same problem on my 2.4, and yes it has been known for the 3.0l heads to crack.
Doe's it smoke all the time ??
Have you checked for water leaks?? (silly question but you never know)

no only on tic over not when driving and no leakes

Find a local garage that can do a presure test or block test on it,
If you have bubbles coming out of the rad then I recon it is more than likely the head or gasket.

try taking the top of the expansion bottle and let the engin tick over,if there is a intermitant trickle of water comming out of the pipe as it pressureises then its most likly a gasket (not 100% definate) if it runs out continuosly it point to the head.Either way the heads got to come off so get it checked out while its off.

this is how my old girl went when I didnt torque the head down tight enough,the water squezzes past the week point as the piston pressureises the chamber,if the head is cracked it pressureise the whole time.Thats my theory anyway and it worked for me.

Now sitting back and waiting to be told that my theory is a load of bovine manure.
