  • Induction kit not good for hilux surf and superchip ?

IVE just been reading a few topics and im hearing that its better to stick with the standard filter and just replace the filter as an induction kit aint that good????

Is this true and if so should i replace the standard air filter for a K & n one or something just replace it with a standard one ?

Also does anyone know where i can get my hilux superchipped from ?

I've worked in the motor trade for 10 years now, & it seems that the advice given by the top technicians at Land Rover has been to stick to the standard set up of the air cleaner as it does the job well, & K&N's make a lot of noise when fitted.

However i'm sure there will be people who have had K&N's fitted & have been very happy with them on there vehicles & they would disagree with the above.

I would stick to a standard air filter & standard set up as the manufacturer designed it.

With a K&N you would use more fuel as it's allowing a larger volume of air into the engine. The air flow sensor will send a signal to the ECU to throw some extra fuel in too!
