  • Can't read fault code

I am trying to check the fault codes but am not getting anything. I connected between w and e1 on the diagnostic plug but I have no flashing o/d light. The light is off with no flashing.

Am I missing something or could it be an ECU fault linked to my problem I posted on here the other day. http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...ad.php?t=24710

    Thanks for any suggestions
    Dave

    Erm,

I may be wrong but don't you use the engine check light to read the fault codes ?

Thanks for the replies I will go and try jumping between TE1 and E1. I will let you know what lights I get flashing and mayble someone can tell me what the fault code means. Does anyone have a list of fault code readings.
            Cheers

Thanks guys very helpfull. I have now checked the codes and have a continually flashing overdrive light so I presume everything is ok. I just dont have anything in reverse and am sure it's something electrical as I damaged the kickdown cable when I took the head off (melted the inner sheath) and I think I may have shorted something electrical that actuates something in the gearbox.
