There are two fuse boxes in the Surf. One in the engine bay, and one by the drivers right foot (when sat in the truck, obviously!! )
Sounds to me like one may have popped, for some reason.
As for the creakig steering stops, a good dollop of grease is quick and easy and cheap! Do a search, ti'll be easy to find..
Oh, and Welcome!!!It just does, OK?

Annoying noise on steering lock wiil be the steering stops, try greasing them. I think i read on another thread to use copper grease, but try a search for steering stops or full lock and it should come up with some info.
As for the lights, have you checked the fuses, on a 2.4 there's some behind a panel in the driver's footwell and some in the box in the engine bay. Not sure bout the 3.0 litre.
Where in kent are you? I'm in ashford.=========

I believe the normal source for lift kits is www.offroadtoys.org.uk - Danno on the forum. If you don't want to do the work yourself, TonyN is always your man www.4x4toys.co.uk

What do think about lifting the surf is it good or bad idea? Mmmm... Bad,
yeah right
go as high as you can there's loads of stuff on here about it. I think generally you can go about 2" on suspension without too much hassle, and same again on body. After this you start to have to think about adjusting the drivetrain and steering and stuff to cope with the lift.
Did 2" springs on the rear myself last weekend, wasn't too hard. Just gotta level up the front with the torsion bars now. Springs came to just over a hundred quid with VAT and delivery from Roughtrax (www.toyotahilux.com). Took me and a mate about 4 hours or so on Sunday. took about three hours to do one side, and work out how to do it, and about an hour once we'd done one to do the other.
What Sancho says for the body lift, Danno/TonyN, gotta be a good bet.=========
