    hi there people

    has anyone got any advice pics or general knowlege on removing a 3.0 surf engine without removing the auto box ive done many engine swaps before but not a surf anything i need to know apart from the obviouse all advise kindly welcome thanks all

    answer to my own query is yes u can remove engine without removing gearbox its dam fidly but possibleanyone want advice let me know

      I've done 2 this year, its OK, far easier that a 2.4.

          Tricky, I think you'll find if you remove the rad, and all the pulleys and junk off the front of the motor you'll have enough room to hoik it out with the converter still attached. As soon as you clear the AFT pump lugs you can tilt the motor up.

          But I've not had to do it that way yet. Linda's convertor was jammed on the spigot hole in the crank, and even with the rad in place half the converter was showing out the bellhousing.

            i have the old engine out n new one ready to go in but i have to swap over the tourqe converter off old engine to new one as it came without one but the old engine is seised im sumising that u have to unbolt each nut holding the tourqe converter on one at a time then turn the engine to get to each bolt is this correct but i cant turn the crank maybe looking at engine strip down to free old engine so i can get to these bolts

              Yeah, could be a bugger. You may have to unbolt the sump and remove the mains and big ends, and break the rear oil seal housing to get the crank and converter out.
