  • Do 4Runners have Air Con?

My L reg 4Runner has some black tape stuck over the hole where the air con button should be.
Should/did my car have air con?

    Thanks.

Is there any evidence in the engine bay? look for a big metal thing (compressor) at the top left of the engine connected by a belt. It will have pipes coming out of it.
I used to have a surf me!

Not that I'm aware. Mine doesn't and none of the ones I looked at whilst buying had it either. There's no mention of it in the fairly generic manual either

Could be that a pervious owner added something to the car and sued the aircon slot for a control - removed it when they sold the car on?

Only as a very expensive option on UK cars, if you can see the alternator, it hasn't. If air con is fitted the Alt is underneath the compressor.

Okay, it doesn't then (I can see the alternator).

What can I get to go in the place of the A/C button?

If the button has gone... then its gone.. a s$$$$py might have a replacment...

You could make up your own label for the button...

              Warp Drive....!

Then apologise profusely to your passengers that it doesn't work, an you'll just have to go under impulse...

Oh dear, you trekkies get everywhere!

I don't think I could live down a warp drive button or a photon torpedo button for that matter!

Isn't there something a bit more down to earth? ie something that was supposed to be there in the first place, rather than a black hole ?
