They hardly ever do m8. Of course there are those that have failed but it certainly is not common.

I have 113,000 on the clock which is of course sod all for this vehicle and I expect it would run to 3 times that figure before any problems of a gasket kind. So long as well maintained and cooling system is doing its job ther aint a reason for it to fail.
