Hi, I know, a really stupid question.....but.........

which engine have I got ? Is it a KZN130?

I have a 4runner, 3.0 TD, N reg. How the heck do you know which engine is in it? All I want is a new back box, but I dont want to go ordering the wrong one. heeeeeeeeeeeelp !!!!!

KZN is the engine code for a 3 litre. (LN is for a 2.4)
130 denotes it's a Gen2

(The Gen 3 is a 185)

Gen 2 has the fuel filler on the drivers side. Gen 3 on passengers!!

3rd gens have a tailgate that lifts up (like an estate car)

2nd gens have a tailgate that folds down (like a pick-up)

On mine there is a black Toyota sticker on the top of the engine that gives the engine type - can't remember what mine says, sorry

Its a 1KZT

If it´s a 4runner it is 1KZT not 1KZT-E wich is good because then you can add an intercooler and a larger exhaust without having to deal with an computer!

Apart from all the other things mentioned...3rd Gens started around 1996 and also if its a 4 Runner it will be the UK Spec [ie no Rear Heater, A/C etc]...I believ these were stopped production around 1994/95

Mines a KZN130, 1993, fuel filter definatly on the passengers side behind the air filter next to the NGR thingy...

An N reg Runner will be a 95/96 and its a KZN130TD
(LN130 = 2.4 2nd Gen, KZN130 = 3.0 2nd Gen, KZN185 = 3.0 3rd Gen 96 on)

Yup, only ever one deisel engine in UK 4Runners. 1KZ-T, and it will only ever be a 2nd gen 4 door.

I did exactly the same, only I got a new monitor.
Does that mean I need glasses or sleep?
