Coolant capacity for an SSR-X 3.0TD ??

Just bought my first Surf, a 1994 SSR-X 3.0 TD a couple of days ago and I have two questions:
What is the coolant capacity of the system and why does the red coolant have to be changed ? Isn't it good enough for UK climate ? ...
Any feedback welcome.

dont know bout the capacity must be round 9 or 10 ltrs meaning you buy 2 gallons of premixed or 1 gallon of unmixed and mix it yourself to your own educated guess based on what is advised for UK winters.
The suspicion with the red stuff is (I think) that if its been installed in the UK by someone who has done the job right then theres no probs but if its old muck still in the motor since its Oriental days then flush it out and get some new stuff in coz its too risky to leave it in.
