This thread mentions a mod to the speed sensor cable to convert to MPH, if this were done and the freq is converted, you may just get differing lock ups (ECU sees different freq) from differing people.

Nick - awesome - all questions answered. I'll re-read it to absorb the detail.

Reasons for my confusion - the boxes BrogWarner made were hydraulic vlave body control - the Aisin Warner ones are solenoids and much more electronics.
