HI ALL JUST BOUGHT SOME NEW ALLOYS FOR MY BABY. THEY WERE OF A ISUZU RODEO OF EBAY FOR £120 I HAD TO GET CENTRE'S BOARD OUT TO FIT £60 THEY ALSO NEEDED SOME 32MM SPACERS £55 BECAUSE OFFSET IS DIFFERENT AND THEY WERE RUBBING ON THE INSIDE. HAD TYRES FITTED YESTERDAY 4 PART WORN. THE GARAGE PUT 235X70X16 ON THE FRONT AND 245X70X16 ON THE BACK HE SAID THEY WILL BE OK. BUT ON SEEING MY BROTHER TODAY HE SAID THIS WILL CAUSE WIND UP WHEN IN 4WD AND DAMAGE MY DRIVE SYSTEM PARTS IS THIS TRUE. THE 245s ARE ABOUT AN INCH TALLER THAN THE 235s I WANTED 265s ON BUT THEY HAD NOT GOT ANY. I DON'T WANT TO BE SPENDING ANY MORE MONEY TO REPAIR DAMAGED DRIVE SYSTEM WIFE'S GONE MAD BECAUSE I BOUGHT THESE SEEMINGLY CHEAP WHEELS.

CAN ANYBODY SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS MATTER FOR ME BEFORE DINNER TOMORROW THEN I CAN GO BACK WITHOUT MAKING A FOOL OF MYSELF INCASE MY BROTHER IS WRONG.

    CHEERS

I would never run two different size tyres but then I wouldnt buy part worns either.
There are loads of wheels that fit the surf without fiddling about and the money saved could have gone on new tyres.

and yes it could cause wind up in the transmission in 4x4 but as you should only use it on slippy surfaces anyway on a 2nd gen I doubt it will cause a prob in the mud etc.

These Were Suposed To Fit Well As It Turned Out Stud Pattern Did But Nothing Else. £470 Is A Lot Of Money To Fork Out At Chrismas For New One's This Is Y I Got Part Worn To See Me Through A Couple Of Months Then I Can Get New One's. I Would Rather Spend £100 At The Moment And Then £470 Later.
And Thanks For Advice On Windup

          Thats **** advise, totally outragous.

You need same size tyres or they won't last 5 mins in 4wd or it'll bind up the drive train and cause wear or breakages.

It *IS* bad advice, but ...

the difference in rolling radius is about 7mm. If you fitted new tyres to the back while the front were near the legal limit (and you should change them earlier), the difference would be about the same as you have now.

As you only use 4WD on surfaces were the wheels will slip anyway, tell the bloke he's an idiot and you want it sorted properly but don't lose sleep in the meantime.
