  • Tyres....stop yawning

    i have 15 x 6 rims with 215 x 80 15 tyres and want to go bigger, will 30 x 9.50 r 15's be ok on 6" wide rims ? some say yes some say no

      now i'm happy - thinking of going for Colway MT, being a mostly off road tyre will they terrible in the wet on the road?

        I've had them fitted for about 18 months now and I've had no dramas.
        I do tend to drive it like I stole it sometimes too.

          good news all round then - thanks for the help, as a newbie surfer the forum is prooving to be a real help - trouble is i'm sure sitting here at work i should be doing other things !

            215 is about eight and a half hinchers so nine and a half isnt a big jump......

              agreed but with only 6" rims i can't go wider, can i ?

                you sure they are 6'' mine are standard and are 15x8j

                  they say 15 x 6jj - been reading elsewhere that the biggest i can use are 235 75 15 on 6 inch rims - confused again now !

                    The standard style alloys came in different widths depending on which tyre size was originally fitted from new. A 235 tyre comes in at over 9" wide, so I would certainly not want to go any wider on a 6" rim.
