Help needed headlight wiring

Hi I am out in Spain with a RHD surf 1993 I am trying to change the headlights from RHD to LHD I bought some lights from the states that have different connectors so I have everything in bits fitting the new lights. The problem I have is that the wiring doesn't seam to be as I would expect checking it with a volt meter gives some strange results I was wondering if the surf has something unusual about the way the headlights work.One headlight has R/G R/Y and R/W the other has R/G R/Y and R/Bk. I had a nissan patrol once and the headlights an that were a nightmare in series sometimes as running lights and parallel as main headlights.
Anyone come accross this, or with a wiring diagam..help! please

Thanks for the help I can see from the diagram why I was getting confused the earths are a different colour because there is a separate 10A fuse in the earth return

Does anyone know were to get those little plastic clips from that hold the grill on, can you get pattern parts or do you have to go to Toyota
