  • 3rd gen front suspension

Get a 'graunching noise' on full lock from the front right of me new motor. I know the front end is different from the 2nd gen, but is there a similar lockstop cover thing fitted that may need replacing?

    any help/advice/diagrams welcome !!

Thge 3rd Gen does not have the steering stops like the earlier models.
Could be many things. Firstly is it on original size wheel & tyres (265/70/16) ? Anything oversized will rub. Next up is checking your CV joints.

Thanks for that Morr. Its fitted with 275/70/16's. Maybe this is the issue. I'll check underneath later for anything else.

my 265 75's work out about an inch bigger than standard. I think this is enough to cause the rubbing. The clearance is minimal at standstill, so steering with a lot of suspension movement is causing the rubbing (quite severe at times). Is the only solution to fit new tyres? Seems a shame as plenty of tread left.
