  • Help buying Hilux Surf KZTE Intercooled 1996

    Hi,

I want to buy 1996 Hilux Surf KZTE Intercooled (SSR G Model) I hope guys out there who own this type of vehicle will help/advice

    1. What is fuel economy (Town/Highway)
    2. Leg room (size) compared to 2LTEs(I own one and gives a lot of Back-pain)

Finally I know the Pajeros Intercoolers are equipped with Fans for efficiency what about Intercooler units in Hilux Surfs.

    Thanks a lot

You should get around 28 mpg around town, and 26 mpg on motorways at around the legal limit. I drive very light footed!

some ssrg surfs do not have intercoolers. intercooled ones have a vent in the bonnet. However the previouse owner fitted an alispeed intercooler to mine (97 ssrg) and it goes like a rocket!

Pajeros do not have the power out put of a surf and are much slower.

Leg room in a 3rd Generation Surf is increased both front & rear over the prior models, however the standard front seats are a definate disimprovement, far less lateral support, weaker bolsters and less lumbar support..... unless of course you've found an SSR-G with the optional Recaro's.

Do you the mean other way round? I thought you got more MPG on the motorway than round town? And only 2MPG difference doesn`t seem much!!
