is this my rear propshaft?

got a 94 3litre ssr and recently had an annoying squeak when reversig. it sounded like rubber so i presumed it was a dry seal or summat in the diff area (it would squeak 4 times to 1 revolution of the wheels). this past week, i'd noticed a metallic sqeauking comig from the rear occasionallly when on smooth surfaces and especially on bumpy roads. last night, a huge vibration appeared at 40 mph.....within a few miles it started to shudder at lower speeds too. this vibration is accompanied by the metallic noise.

what's worryin me is i'm off on holiday next saturday and i want to be sure it's the propshaft before i start ripping the entire rear end off in search of the cause.

has anyone else had similar symptoms? and am i barking up the right tree when i suspect the universal joints?
