  • Viscous(?) Fan

A basic question I know, but I've done the search thingy and couldn't find what I was looking for.

In front off the radiator on the 3.0L TD SSR-X is another fan.
    a) Is this the viscous fan?
    and
    b) When I flushed the cooling system today I noticed that, even though the engine had been running for 20 minutes with the temp guage on normal, this fan never moved. Is this ok or should I be worried?

    a) no viscous fan is between engine and radiator, driven by belt. fan floats on mounting depending on temp.
b)electric fan comes on when engine is much hotter
    it's in me shed, mate.

You got enough to worry about, stop picking on the upper echelon of Surf owners....

Reading the threads on the forums, is there such a thing as a calm Surf owner.

I always thought the fixed grin was to cover up the panic in you 2.4 mini drivers!.

Seriously though, I need to know where and what these bits are and what they should be doing (or not as the case may be) as the old girl is taking us down to SW France in September.

I thought a echelon was what they painted on the road to keep other vehicles away from our pride and joys!

So an upper echelon is an Italian turtle swimming in the surf.

I understand it now (I think)!
