  • fuel filler pipe blockage

Need some help, was filling up truck with diesel using a jerry can today, when the tip of the spout came off and fell in the fuel filler pipe (seems the very tip with filter in it was glued on), any way problem is now it takes an age to fill, with fuel nozzle clicking off all the time at the pumps, ............... so can anyone tell me how to disconnect the fuel filler hose between the opening and the fuel tank, as i can only presume its stuck somewhere down there

    Thanks

can u still see it with a torch? the end came off mine once and got stuck on the lip right at the edge of were u would lose site of it, if its still visible CAREFULLY get 2 screw long screwdrivers and try to grab it between them and move it back up... if not might be time to go fishing in the tank lol, gives you a excuse to get all the crud at the bottom of it cleaned out too,

If it's metal you could try a strong magnet on string. It might work as the filler hose is mainly plastic and rubber?

If you take your back wheel off, there is a cover plate over the pipes, remove this and its easy to get the filler pipes off.

I got a thing from an autojumble but sure you can pick it up in a car shop. Cost £1 and it is a flexible cable with a sort of thumb end of a syringe at one end, when you press it 3 fingers come out of the bottom to make a claw. It is brilliant for picking up dropped things like that, also very good for poking wires behind trim if you are fitting any electrical goodies.
Parts of your engine go up, stop then go back! Mm!
