  • Loss of power. Lots of smoke.

    Sooooo

Last week on the motorway I noticed a lack of power, i could get up to 70 with little problem, but if I floored it there was nothing there.

I assumed it was my fuel filter as I had recently had some veg oil through it and hadn't done that for a while.

Few days later it totally went no power, would hardly rev, engine management light on and off, limped home, luckily right near home.

I changed the fuel filter, and no difference.

After a bit of messing about, i read the codes, it was 15 = Throttle control motor (no signal)

Assumed that was the throttle position sensor. Changed it. Still the same.

Anybody have any ideas on where to look next. I was supposed to be driving to Cornwall Saturday morning, doesn't look like that's happening.

All I can suggest right now is replace the small o-ring, that is on the filter drain tap.

Ok since that post i have bypassed the filter completely, so I don't think it is that. As I had read about someone having a small crack in the filter head.
