ECU and gearbox issues

Looks like I have an ECU problem that’s affecting gear changes. The symptoms are holding on to gears too long and no overdrive at all. I don’t suppose anyone has an ECU for sale or perhaps someone local I could borrow one from for 5 mins to double check mine is faulty? I live near Milton Keynes.
Once I have this fixed I will be selling the Surf if anyone is interested. It will have a fresh MOT and cambelt done. It’s a low mileage one, lifted with snorkel. Goes really well (normally!)

Meant to say, I have done a full gearbox oil change including cleaning the filter and I did the two bucket method just to make sure I had all the old oil out.

Have you checked the overdrive button & wiring? Sounds like it thinks you've switched it off.

It will 99.9% be your ECU. You can get it tested for £35 by ECU Doctor. Link on the graphic on the home page
