1kz-te landcruiser engine?

Hi Guys,
can anyone confirm that a 1kz-te 3.0 diesel from a 1996-1998 landcruiser prado is exactly the same as the 1kz-te in the gen 3 surf (1996)?

if so, can I simply drop the landcruiser engine into my broken surf and be on my merry way?

I think so, all parts seem to be interchangeable. Unless there's other practical issues , the engine itself should be the same unit as far as I know .
