oil change at 3k miles or 4.5k miles

I know most people on here say 3k miles for oil change
however the service schedule manual in my glovebox of 4runner states 4.5k miles for oil change interval,
why would it be different for a UK 2nd gen 3.0TD 4runner ?

I don't think the service schedule is different - it's just people giving their dearly beloveds a bit of tlc. Some people say if you change the oil every 3k then you only change the filter every other time. I change the oil at 4.5k and change the filter every time. It's down to personal preference.
