    the head is cracked
do i rebuild and use new head from UKcylinderheads

You just cant drop a 3.0 engine in like you could in the old days. You will need all the loom + ecu etc also gearbox may not fit could be very expensive, a lot more than a new head.

Are you talking a 3L engine or a 3 Litre engine (1KZT/1KZTE). 3L should be a reasonably easy swap - you can even use the 2LT turbo/ inlets exhaust on the 3L as it uses the same (virtually - the bores or 96mm instead of 92mm so the head has slightly wider combustion surface). Pretty sure you will need to change the ECU though.

      Cheers

IT AINT AS EASY AS YOU THINK. As you also need the Loom remove all the dashboard etc. The cost against rebuilding the original engine is far greater.

What even for a 3L (2.8) engine. Didn't think it was that much different to the 2L engine. I know that the 2L to 1KZTE swap is a total nightmare but the 2.8 engine is almost identical except for a larger bore and stroke (96x96 instead of 92x92).

          Cheers

No problem often a confusion and he might be looking at a 3 Litre, however the 3L is a 2.8 litre normally aspirated fitted to some Australian Surfs and Pickups over here. 3 litre as you know is the 1KZT or 1KZTE.

              Cheers
