steering wheel removal ?

hi ive brought a new steering wheel for my surf 92 2.4 but can not get the old one off ive tried bashing it. two bolts in the steering wheel and a piece of metel to over the spline. and yes before any one says it i have removed the nut is there any circlips etc prior to removal thanx inadvance gavin.........

keep pulling and banging from all points around the wheel she ll come

A spray of wd40 should do the trick leave it to soak overnight.
