funny whistling

Here's one for the technical team please.

My 2.4 manual has a funny wind whistling noise that appears to come from around the drivers front door area.

However - the noise is louder with the window open - discounting window whistle and still occurs if I drive with the door open. I have no wind deflec. fitted so its not them.

It stops completely in the rain.

A local repair shop heard it and muttered something about throttle damper.

Any clues???

Mine does it too. Changed the front brake pads just in case, although it is definately a whistle not a squeal, but it's still doing it. Have still not sussed it out. Thought it might be air going through some small screw holes where something has been removed but not had time to plug them up and find out.

had my brake pads done recently - they produce a very different noise. Also didnt alter the wind whistle - same as you. Looks like we are all in the same boat - so must be something common between the vehicles rather than the odd screwhole??
