  • Bad starting

Over the last week the motor has not been starting straight away. I turn the key and it sounds like its trying to fire. I give it some gas and it pops into life. It does have a knocking sound that goes when it warms up. I had the head replaced four months ago and has started first time since up til now. Any ideas. I wandered if the diesel isnt being heated enough prior to me turning the ignition?

in the engine bay, on the drivers side just under the hood and above the wheel, theres a black plastic fuse box, pull the lid off and check your 80amp glow plug fuse hasnt blown. The wire will be broken behind the glass. If it is, go to a breakers and get one from them. Removing and fitting is so awkward its sadistic

if the fuse is gone you probably have a short somewhere check this before replacing fuse or it will just blow the new one
