Hello I have a 92 ln130 jap import auto. Truck has developed a chirping noise when driving. I cannot replicate this noise when stationary and am struggling to pin point this problem. Things I have done=changed timing belt and water pump last spring, noise started early summer, bought seal kit for steering pump and rebuild no leaks or clunkyness anymore, replaced bearings in alternator they sounded alittle rough, replaced auxiliary belts and still chirping, replaced vicious fan coupling and still chirping. Any ideas? Took it to a good mechanic he looked at it for 2 hours and he had no idea, also took passenger side wheel off checked brake pads and regressed bearing. Any ideas? Can the transmission chirp? Also greased up ujoints and replaced top passenger ball joint. My cousin is flying out from nz for a 6 day mad euro road trip sort of need this one amazing truck to be amazing again, not the annoying pile of shit it has developed into. Also replaced turbo too much play in the shaft. Tbf this is the best I've had her running just this fooking chirp when driving, sounds bad first thing in the morning then after about an hour on motorway chirp almost vanishes. Seems to chirp more on run off...that's what the mechanic told me. Please help.

Hmm, usually a belt or pulley. Did you change the timing belt tensioner when you did the belt? If not, it may be the culprit, not tensioning the belt enough, which can lead to other, more serious problems.
Buy some belt dressing (or use WD40) and spray all the pulleys and even the new belts and see if the noise disappears or abates. If so, then it is a matter of finding which pulley or belt is at fault.

Thanks for your replies. I pulled the timing belt off and checked everything again. Replaced tensioners with belt. Everything seems as it should of. Took a old mechanic fella for a ride Friday alvo and he gave me hearty 'Well that's a bloody corker!!!' He didn't have a clue also. Wasn't the reponse I was looking for tbh. All I've had from three mechanics so far is let it develop....don't want this chirp to develop into a road trip busting event. Any ideas. Exhaust looks good. SS exhaust put on 6yrs ago. Would taking this to a auto specialist help any??

lsd diff with non-lsd oil in it can sometimes do it. it can grab and chirp the tires.
also take a close look to the crank pulley. they have a rubber part glued in and that is known to come loose and spin on it. but also known to spin then grap. that could make a chirp noise.
otherwise find a way to post the sound ie video clip.
noises are difficult to do in person and extremely difficult to work out over the net.

Yeah researched a lot before posting. I replaced the crankshaft pulley hoping it was that.....it wasn't....I'm in Leicester. Will take it for a ride and record the noise. It's a weird one.....first time in 12 years I've had to take any of my vehicles to a professional. Not locked in 4wd or locked up at the rear, noise definitely coming from the front end....somewhere....thanks for your replies.
