  • 2LT into a 2LT-E engine bay??

Hi Guys, I would like to replace my troublesome 2LT-E(EFI) with a non-efi 2LT. What will and wont work please.I understand the engine mounts etc are the same, but the rev counter is different. What else is there to worry about? Oh- its a 1990 Surf with the original 2LT-E.

Not much point in swapping the whole engine as most of it is the same. What you need is the fuel pump from a 2L or 2LT engine. It bolts on in place of the original pump and is purely mechanical so you can have it calibrated to do anything you like ....not too hard to find either

The engine will run fine with the mechanical pump even if you don't do anything to the wiring but the engine check light will be on all the time. I'm not 100% sure but I believe you can just bridge the wiring from the ECU so it assumes the electronic pump is still there.
