It might sound stupid, but have you checked that both terminals on the battery are tight?

Not stupid at all, twin batterys New last year ok I do not know a lot about cars just drive them. Any help, i will try to look at it.Turnes over but will not fire up.

Oil in engine, water in radiator ?

Cam belt snapped !!

Diesel in tank ?

Ask an other Surf owner local to have a look

no noises now or before it stoped, oil ok water ok diesel half tank belt ?

Had you just filled up with fuel?


When it turns does it sound like it is about to start or does it barely turn over?



Are you waiting for the glow plug sequence to finish?
(If you open the bonnet and get a helper to turn the ignition on you will hear or should hear a click from the glow plug relay.

Fuel in for three days. Turns over as it always has, just not starting. I have a buzzer when glow plugs have heated and amp meter reading near 50 amp when heating.Relay coming on / off. thanks for help we will keep on trying. When it stoped it was just as i had turned the key off, just stoped.

possibly its pulling air into fuel system i saw a good post on here a guy had same problem
the poster gave him step by step guide and it cured it
