  • Hilux Heater Fan

The heater fan on my hilux will only work on fast speed and not on any other. Can any of you hilux gods tell me which part is most likely to be at fault, the switch or the blower. What sort of a job is it to change the blower unit.or the switch.THANKS JON

It will be the blower resistor that's at fault.

Maybe you could fill in some more detail on your profile, this would help when asking questions like this, as we don't know what year or model that you have.

      Hilux Heater Fan

      Hi Andy
Sorry about the lack of details ,but this is all new to me.I hope i've sorted it now.The vehicle is a 1992 toyota hilux ,2.8 double cab ,imported from japan 12 years ago.Hopfully you'll be able to shed some light.
      THANKS
      JON

As I said in the above post, it must be the blower resistor that's gone, as you only have the fast fan which is 12v, the resistor drops the power down for the lower speeds.

I have a similar problem, the fan control does nothing except for on the 2 fastest settings, could anyone tell me where this resister would be?
            Many Thanks
            Darren

found my own answer, should have searched longer, for others reference.
