Possibly my last post engine under compression

Well after such a long time trying figure out my surf's problem I took it to a mechanic and I found out that the engine is under compression, a bad cylinder or something, well after much thought and stress I still don't know best course of action. Fixing sounds expensive due to the car needing a engine swap, and finances don't provide to much in that area at the moment, I love the car and hate to lose it to a wrecker just because I don't know what to do, so this being possibly my last post, not sure if it's worth repairing or am I just burning more and more money away

I don't really have the space to work on it, in all honesty I would love to keep the car, but its a tough call

Pity, much easier on the pocket doing the work yourself..
