  • soot in engine bay turbo??

    i seem to have a lot of soot in my engine bay possibly coming from my turbo any ideas?

        Probably where the turbo outlet joins onto the exhaust downpipe.

        Have a feel around the joint to see if you can feel the gases, probably best with a cold engine.

          Saw something similar just recently. If it's over everything which looks to be the case to me, then check it's not belt dust. Worn belts will produce a lot of dust.

            its defently when the engine is reving, but im also having turbo issues (generally not working) was thinking of buying one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1408257586...84.m1423.l2649

              that soot is all over the engine. either its road grime or you have a cracked manifold. normally it would be roaring like crazy.
              if its struggling to get boost then a cracked manifold or blown exhaust gasket is highly likely.
