    I have changed the timing belt but accidentally belt the pin sticking out see picture. I tried to bend back but what us the significance?

    It's what you line the crankshaft pulley timing mark to.

        As long as it isn't fouling the pulley and you can still align the timing marks, no biggie. However, it will make it a bit harder to get that auxiliary belt back on.
