Fuel light question

Silly question but does the fuel light come on when low, mine has never come on and ive had her pretty low? This is on my gen2!

I drove for 20 miles with the light on & then bottled it & filled up.

I've mentioned it a few times in the past but as you've missed them all I'll mention it again.
It takes £20 worth of fuel into a bone dry tank to extinguish the low fuel light, so you can do at least 18 tippy-toe miles before the spluttering starts.

I went to sleep with the light on the other night. It had gone off when I woke up.

Am I right in thinking the light comes on, and then starts flashing when you are really low, or is that just a dodgy sender...?

Never let mine gwet too far into the reserve so cant comment, althiugh i'm sure dodfy flashing is illegal
