Which brake pads?

Hi, my surf is a '91 model and i'm unsure which pads to purchase(89-91 or 91-93)
My surf has the headlamps which are recessed and wasn't fitted with the arch extensions so i assume this is the pre-facelift variant, the log book only states declared manufacture '91. Could anyone shed any light on my querie or can i check via the chassis number?

Measure the diameter of your front discs.

If they are 288mm you need the early brake pads.

If they are 291mm you need the later type.

I'd guess you need the early type..

Older discs are 20mm thick and the newer 25mm.
