Yes the rumours are true my Cylinder Head has gone. I took it into STEVO at stockport engine co. this morning & new head was on by 4pm also steve put a new water pump on as they are only £25 so why not. Cracks where evident across 2 3 + 4 cylinder No 4 being the worse, bores are fine & valves ok this is not a recon head but a new head, the head gasket is not the problem with the 2.4. so dont believe that old excuse the heads always crack across the valve seat area. well done to steve for doing an A+ job he cerainly knows engines. So once again a big thankyou to steve fitting me in at such short notice.

I love my have had it 18 months no problems done over 40.000kms so its not bad really i was expecting it to go anyway.

now i've kept this a secret for a while... i reckon the problem is the lengthe of time they're sat around inbetween being sold in japan and selling here.
my mate had a toyota celica (uk car) and he was banned for drink driving for a year, and also off in Afghanistan for a bit. when he left the car it was in tip top shape, but when he returned, he drove it about 2o miles home and the head went!.... also anyone looked into perhaps the head crack ones are from the colder end of japan??... perhaps the coolant freezes and cracks the weak head rather than pushing core plug sout?
just a couple of ideas i've had while on my own and not thinking of naked ladies!nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!
