another totally useless bit of info is the 265/70/15 tyres measure almost exactly 31x10.5x15 (30.9x10.6x15) , so theres not a lot in it really.

Ours are 265/70/16. This I understand (fat/tall/wide) but whats this 31,10,15s about ?

        Jim
I run 31x10.5r15 . If you put them side by side with a 265/ you'll notice the 31 x 10 has up to 5mm more thread dept for the same price!!

Found some 16 x 10 alloys but me thinks the rubber to fit will be darn expensive - would lookd good though.....
Plus the wife has veto'd the idea

Do you home work before parting with your hard earned on a set of tyres you know nothing about. Mine came with a set of Bridgestone winter duellers, which looked new . They were worn out in under 20k KM's! and more seriously, were scary in the wet, even at low speed. I have put a set of Michelins on. They are mainly a road tyre, but that suits me fine. They give a better ride, and stick to the road. Theres a bit of info on tyres here.

                    Cheap Tyres

I changed all 5 tyres on Katie about 2 months ago. As she doesn't go off road, I wanted some tyres to give better grip on Tarmac.

The manager at my local National Tyres was pretty flexible and basically said he would match any price I could find elsewhere.

I got 5 265/70 R15 Avon Rangers, valves and balanced plus the tracking checked and adjusted for £347.00 all in inc VAT which I thought a pretty good deal.

Although I don't know much about Avon tyres, 2 months on seem great to me and don't seem to be wearing any quicker than any other tyres I've had.

Yep! Been there, done that, twice! I used to have a Landy and had the mud tyres on that from Marshall. Now I have the Surf with AT's on it. Never had any problems with them, they seem a good tyre and not too expensive if you trash them when going places others can't. I think they are remolds but they seem fine ot me. I did about 20,000 miles in the Landy on them with no appreciable sign of wear and I'm heading toward that in the Surf without noticable wear.

There is no way I'd pay £73 each for a remould. My Dueler A/Ts from www.mytyres.co.uk are 31x10.50x15 and I like them and seem good offroad (unless im in 2 wheel drive )

BFG's A/T KO are £89.30 each inc VAT and Delivery from that site.

^^^ Beware who follows me on the weekend as I have to reverse to disengauge 4 wheel drive Oh what fun
