  • getting hot towing

i got a 2.4 auto not the best starter first thing in the morn and splutters a bit when she does go but soon clears. sounds great after that, gets warm but not hot ( in the heater the temp guage dont work) but i had to deliver some hay the other week and she got hot going uphill with the load on steam coming out expansion bottle. left to cool down before filling up with water.
been running no different scince then until yesterday i drove home from work and left it running while i spoke to my neighbour for 10 mins when i parked up it had left a patch of water on the road coming from the expansion bottle. has anyone else found a surf over heating towing or could there be something more sinester going on. dont think its head gasket as it run to well but am scrating my head with it at the mo..
