    hi
    does anyone know how to take the oil cooler of on my hilux surf mark 1.
    i wanted to flush the coolent out but couldnt get the box of.
    help..........

      Autobox oil cooler? its in the Rad.

      No engine oil cooler fitted as standard to a Surf.

        thats what the garage bloke called it today its a big box underneth and this was stopping it from being flushed out.

          big box underneath sure thats not the air rad as i think oil cooler built into main radiator

                you dont take off just remove crash guard and holding bolts then lower as far as pipes will allow and work round it

                  ok thanks i will try that.
                  i was looking at pictures of how to flush the coolant out last night, but the sulf i was looking at didnt have this guard on it, did the mark 2 surfs not have these guards on??

                    mark2s either a/c rad withguard underneath or front conversion just a chioce

                      p.s. if trying to flush coolant and struggling other way remove bottom hose and filler cap then put in hose pipe form seal with a rag hold it tight turn on hose and run for a few minutes usaly washes out all c*** let me know how u go on only live bury so if u get stuck give us a shout

                          i drained the radiator and the water was a rusty colour, but i couldnt flush because this guard thing was in the way.
