I drive a 2.4 1991 ssr x surf Ln130, my fuel consumption has gone down to about 13 mpg around town, can anyone tell me why its so low and how could i improve it. I dont have a heavy foot i try to keep it off turbo as much as possible. cheers chris

Pump your tyres up to 33psi.

I doubt its ever gonna get significantly better than 15 or so stop / start in the real world. I dont have figures to hand, but the 3.0TD is only 18mpg urban (manufacturers figures), and the 2.4 is generally worse.
