diff problem

having a bit of a problem with my front diff 2.4 1992 maual
noticed a few weeks ago when engaging four wheel drive it was pulling to the left had a look underneath the of side drive into the diff was moving in & out & up & down the diff has now been taken of in work shop all bearings ok flang ok but still got loads of play for no apparent reason anyone got any ideas
